Position: Chemical Operator
Shift: Monday to Friday – 40 hours – Overtime and potential shift work.
Primary Location : Edmonton
Compensation: $32.00 per hour + benefits (During probationary period for 6 months);
$ 42.25 per hour + benefits (After probationary period)
The CAD hourly rate for this position is $32.00 + benefits. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements. QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate is a must
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in chemical manufacturing or manufacturing/production.
  • Experience working with forklifts preferred.

Competencies

  • Ability to demonstrate experience using Microsoft programs, maintenance management systems and email.
  • Aptitude for mechanics.
  • Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform chemical manufacturing operations in safe and effective manner.
  • Recording information, such as ingredients, weights, and temperature, and inputting into database.
  • Monitor and control pressure and temperature of chemical process equipment.
  • Operate plant equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Handle, transport and process chemicals safely.
  • Document plant processes and record production data.
  • Operation of tank truck and railcar vessel opening, loading and unloading of product, operation of pumps, piping and valves.
  • Troubleshooting issues with production equipment and processes.
  • Plant inventory record keeping.
  • Operation of the following mobile equipment: Backhoe, Trackmobile, Forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
  • Daily plant upkeep and daily maintenance. Ability to perform daily housekeeping duties.
