    We are seeking a Chemical Pathologist - Biochemisty to join the team at Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau and have complete oversight of the Biochemistry within Northland. This is a permanent, part-time position to support the Biochemistry service.
    Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Māori as Tāngata Whenua as the highest priority.
    Whangārei Hospital is the largest hospital in Northland (250-bed district hospital with all major specialities), providing secondary care services across the region and supported by three rural hospitals in Dargaville, Kaitaia and the Bay of Islands. The Northland region covers an area of 12,600 square kilometres with a growing population of 190,000.
    As a Chemical Pathologist, you will join a small but close-knit team dedicated to their patients. You will bring your extended experience within the Biochemistry testing environment to be able to take ownership of a range of tasks within the service. Collegial visits to the Whangarei and district laboratories will be a key element of the role and is an IANZ requirement. From reporting and procedure work to quality assurance and clinical pathway development. Ideally you will have an understanding of pathology and public health interaction as well as the regional systems in NZ and public-private laboratory services interaction.
    To be considered, you must have or be eligible for vocational registration in a Pathology scope of practice with the Medical Council of NZ. Ideally you will have completed a Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) or equivalent.
