Description:
CSS has immediate openings for a Chemical Safety Analyst (CSA) to serve as a senior technical support leader at our client site, the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Candidates should have experience and knowledge in assessing chemical safety and hazards in work environments, including laboratories, and collecting pertinent data to document findings. The CSA will be responsible for identifying and evaluating chemical hazards in laboratories and laboratory support areas. The CSA will document findings, assess controls in place, and recommend additional controls to reduce risk. The CSA will also support the development of agency-wide safety-related policies, guidelines, fact sheets and SOPs covering a range of chemical safety topics and developing and delivering trainings. The position requires a team-oriented professional with strong organization skills as well as excellent writing and oral communication skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS or MS degree in Chemistry, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline
- Five or more years of related technical chemical safety experience
- Detail oriented
- Effective written and oral communication skills
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to work as a solid contributor in a team environment
- Capable of multi-tasking and changing direction depending on workload
- Previous Federal government experience including laboratory or research support
- Computer skills including: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
