Description:
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Chemical Analysis (35%)
- Analyze organic or inorganic materials to determine chemical or physical attributes, composition, structure, relationships, or reactions using chromatography or spectroscopy techniques
- Maintain laboratory instruments to ensure correct operation and, if necessary, troubleshoot the issues when needed
- Prepare test solutions, chemicals, or reagents for testing by laboratory workers
- Introduce chemical catalysts to cause changes in the composition of substances for a quantitative or qualitative study
Process Control (35%)
- Compile and evaluate test data to determine the efficiency of a process or piece of equipment, or to diagnose a problem
- Prepare standards and requirements for processes, facilities, products, or testing by writing technical reports
- Develop, customize, or improve items, equipment, formulations, procedures, or analytical methods
Product Development (10%)
- Investigate the effects of various processing, preservation, or packaging procedures on the content or qualities of candles
- Consult with scientists or engineers while doing research analysis, interpreting test results, or developing non-standard tests
People Development (10%)
- Direct, coordinate, or advise personnel in the testing of components or physical qualities of materials
Train new workers on process or quality control lab procedures and policies
Health and Safety (10%)
Examine laboratory safety procedures to confirm that they are in conformity with industry requirements or to make any necessary adjustments
- Adhere to all policies and procedures for health and safety, especially company Covid-19 protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent bachelor’s degree with Chemistry background.
Experience
- 1 – 2 years experience in a similar role
Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite – Level 2
- Computer proficiency – Level 2
- Math proficiency – Level 4
