Description:

ING Luxembourg is looking for a Chief Architect who will lead a team of 8 architects to translate our business vision into target architectures and roadmaps, ensuring our technology meets customer needs, both now and in the future. The Chief Architect will report hierarchically to the CIO and is the trusted advisor for executive management. As our Chief Architect, you’ll lead our strategic direction in IT and enterprise architecture, driving innovation and excellence in our practices. Chief Architect

Mission:

  • Shape the strategic direction of ING in Enterprise and IT architecture, working with global stakeholders to define a comprehensive architectural and technology vision.
  • Oversee the implementation of architectural plans, ensuring they align with time, budget, and quality constraints while minimizing technical debt.
  • Guide the execution of future state tech architectures and roadmaps, setting global standard architectures and cooperating with other domains.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Architects, acting as a strategic advisor to CIO, IT Lead, and other Architects.
  • Develop annual business plans for the architecture department, ensuring alignment with overarching business strategy.
  • Act as a thought leader in architecture, initiating and leading architectural projects, market studies, vendor evaluations, and product studies.
  • Ensure operational compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies to protect the organization’s reputation and minimize risk.
  • Foster innovation and continuous improvement, leading Architecture practice and the adoption of EAgile methodologies.
  • Develop strategic partnerships within ING, steering the development of suppliers and ensuring requirements for future standard package solutions are met.
  • Promote the Architecture Community (ACOM) in its mission to expand architecture and engineering practices.

Who are we looking for?
Technical Skills:

As a leader, you demonstrate technical proficiency in the following areas:

  • Mastery of an Architecture frameworks: TOGAF, Zachman, IASA, UML, C4, BPM
  • Good understanding of Architecture styles: Domain Driven Design, Microservices, Event Driven Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture,
  • Practice of an Agile method (SCRUM, SAFE, DaD, Kanban)
  • Good understanding of APIs
  • Relational and NoSQL databases
  • Virtualized infrastructure environments
  • Cloud Computing (PaaS and SaaS)
  • IT Security

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience at the management level in an Enterprise/IT architecture, preferably in banking environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of continuous delivery, IT banking systems in an integrated context.
  • Proven experience with Agile methodologies in a diverse, international environment.
  • Ability to develop strategic roadmaps and convey technical ideas in an engaging and understandable manner.
  • Experience driving and leading multidisciplinary teams, managing stakeholders, and working on strategic projects with high impact.
  • Proficient in English and French.
