QUDORA Technologies is a quantum technology start-up from Lower Saxony (Germany) developing full-stack quantum computers based on ion trap technology. Quantum computers hold the promise of outperforming today’s supercomputers within the next decade and solve some of the world’s most challenging problems by unleashing the power of quantum mechanics.
QUDORA and its patented technology belong to the spearhead of the German quantum computing landscape. We have won multiple projects and signed a contract to develop a quantum computer prototype for the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) in context of the German Quantum Computing Initiative.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced team member to fill the role as Chief Business Officer (CBO). The role marks the first hire of our Quantum Business team, which will manage and take responsibility of our business functions including finance, business and product development. As part of our senior management, the CBO works closely with other C-level managers and contributes significantly to our strategy. The position offers unmatched opportunities to bring an entirely new technology to the market and to position a growing startup in the globally emerging market of quantum technology.

Educational Background: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Physics or Engineering with an MBA, or B.E./M.E./B.Tech./M.Tech/MBA in Business Administration or Finance.

  • Experience: Proven experience in managing business and financial functions, with prior industry experience.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership experience in a corporate environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Venture Capital: Experience working with venture capital (VC) firms and engagements.
  • Technical Understanding: Solid understanding of technology and its applications in business.
  • Strategy Development: Proven experience in developing and implementing business strategies.
  • Company Scaling: Experience in scaling companies and driving growth.
  • Presentation Skills: Strong presentation skills for various stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships.
  • Process Implementation: Ability to implement scalable processes to support company growth.
  • Growth and Stability: Capability to drive fast growth while ensuring company stability.
  • German Proficiency: Fluency in German is highly desirable

Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Gain deep understanding of the quantum hardware industry and specifically QUDORA’s technology.
  • Identify new market opportunities for our quantum computers, quantum processors, and remaining product portfolio.
  • Shape existing products and develop new products to meet future market demands.
  • Identify funding opportunities and contribute to competitive grant applicationstogether with our R&D teams.
  • Maintain close relationships to our partners and foster new collaborations to achieveour strategic goals.
  • Participate in international industry meetings, academic conferences, and workshops.

Financials

  • Drive the company’s financial planning and track cash flow in exchange with our tax consultancy.
  • Share insights and financial analysis across senior management to provide decision- making based on sound financial data.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and communicating KPIs to our stakeholders.
  • Monitor budget plannings and perform regular risk assessments.
  • Driving our investor relations and support in acquiring venture capital.

Leadership

  • Building a strong business team, which can drive all business functions and can act efficiently in a dynamic environment
  • Represent the company in meetings and on political events
