REQUIREMENTS
- More than 10 years’ experience in a Senior level Financial Crime and Compliance role.
- A subject matter expert in Luxembourg and EU Financial Crime and Compliance requirements including but not limited to AML, CTF, Sanctions, ABC, data privacy and conduct
- Previous experience holding an RC or MLRO (or equivalent) role with a firm, and overseeing a compliance function
- Extensive knowledge of MICA, the regulatory framework for digital asset firms and associated financial crime and compliance risks.
- Experience in managing a team and acting in a leadership capacity
- You are based in Luxembourg or within a 50KM radius.
- You have crypto experience and knowledge and are proficient in utilising blockchain analytics tools
Responsibilities:
ROLE DESCRIPTION
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Chief Compliance Officer in Luxembourg. The Chief Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing compliance management for European operations covering areas such as MICA, financial crime, data privacy amongst other core areas, as well as supporting the business in its success within Europe.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Holder of the ‘RC’ function and Data Protection Officer as per applicable Luxembourg/EU Directives, Regulations and Circulars.
- Develop a Financial Crime and Compliance controls framework covering MICA, anti-financial crime (AML, Sanctions, Fraud, ABC, tax evasion), data privacy, conduct, conflicts of interest, amongst other core compliance areas.
- Development of policies and standards
- Performing the role of MLRO and responsible for submission of suspicious activity reports to the FIU.
- Overseeing the effective operation of compliance and financial crime process operation, including executing 2nd line control sample testing.
- Supporting in client onboarding and blockchain investigations
- Key liaison contact person with the CSSF and EU regulators.
