Responsibilities:
THE ROLE: CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
As the Chief Development Officer, you will play a key leadership role within the organization and lead the Development Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. In this role, you will be a senior executive responsible for building, leading and overseeing the organization’s development efforts, with a focus on fundraising, major donor relations, philanthropists, strategic & corporate partnerships, and the overall advancement of The Solution Community’s mission. You will lead and execute the organization’s long-term funding strategies and ensure continued financial support for our initiatives. The CDO will work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership team to set and implement strategies that increase revenue and expand the organization’s donor base. This role is critical to driving long-term sustainability and growth by cultivating meaningful relationships and securing resources for key initiatives.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the development of a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term goals.
- Donor & Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with high-level donors, philanthropists and corporations, ensuring a meaningful donor experience while aligning their interests with Solution Community’s mission.
- Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and other key leadership to shape and execute the development strategy, including major gifts and corporate partnerships, and align fundraising strategies with organizational priorities.
- Stewardship & Recognition: Ensure that major donors receive consistent and personalized recognition and stewardship, including regular updates on the impact of their gifts.
- Philanthropic Networks: Leverage your own network and connections to develop new partnerships with individuals and foundations capable of contributing significant financial support.
- Team Collaboration: Lead the Development Team, including grant writers, major gifts and corporate partnership leaders, to identify cross-functional opportunities for fundraising.
- Financial and Operational Management: Establish and manage the fundraising budget, ensuring efficient use of resources to meet revenue targets.
