We are seeking an inspiring Chief Digital Officer (CDO) to lead this transformation, using technology for good to improve service delivery, reduce costs, and enhance user experiences.
As Chief Digital Officer, you will be the driving force behind our digital strategy and will report to the Head of Corporate Support Service: Performance, Digital & Assets, joining a supportive and progressive Service Leadership Team.
You will lead a talented team of ICT and Digital Services professionals and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation and beyond. Your leadership will enhance our services, empower our workforce, and deliver value for our citizens.

Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE
To lead the ICT and Digital Services department of the Corporate Support - Performance, Digital & Assets Service, bringing together capability and capacity across a range of functions including:
- ICT Technical Support
- ICT Infrastructure
- Business Systems and Transformation
- Quality and contract management
- ICT Security and ICT Business Continuity
- Digital records bureau (digital post, digital record and modern records management)
With the Head of Service and through collaboration with the Service Leadership Team:
- Develop and deliver strategy for delivering excellent Corporate Support services.
- Establish and maintain a high performing culture across the service through continuous improvement and innovation.
- Lead through example by exhibiting professional attitudes and collaborative behaviours to maximise the positive impact of the Council’s work.
- Engage positively with County Councillors and key stakeholders to ensure the service’s excellent reputation.
The postholder will be integral in leading digital transformation for the organisation, shaping the new Digital Strategy for the Council and ensuring Members, employees, customers and partners have access to effective IT and digital services in a secure way. This area of work is vital for the success of the council in order to maximise efficiencies and performance from the utilisation of technology to deliver public good to support continued delivery of essential services to our residents and communities.
