MORE ABOUT YOU
To qualify, you will need a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in economic development, business management, or a related field, preferably within Indigenous or First Nations contexts, will also be essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field (asset)
- Developed experience in Chief and Council/Government relations
- Strong understanding of Indigenous rights, culture, and socio-economic issues
- Demonstrated experience in financial management and strategic planning
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement ability
- Developed experience with economic/business development processes such as feasibility studies, cost analyses, etc.
- Familiarity with Land code or Land use

- Developing and implementing strategic plans to advance economic development goals
- Building strong relationships with Haisla membership, First Nations communities, and stakeholders
- Overseeing financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Leading operational management and ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Supporting economic empowerment and community development initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and governance standards
- Identifying and mitigating operational, financial, and reputational risks
- Liaising with Chief and Council, private organizations and government entitie
