POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Chief Executive Officer- Laradon
Department: Administration
Reporting Function: Society Board of Directors
Supervisory Functions: Executive Leadership Team (COO, CFO, CPO, Foundation President, EA)
Location: Denver, CO- Relocation Assistance available- must be willing to work in Denver, CO.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations of Laradon, including its fiscal management, personnel management, and any and all other business affairs. The Chief Executive Officer is authorized to hire necessary employees and perform any other duties or responsibilities necessary for the effective functioning of Laradon.
Laradon is a non-profit organization and has been a leader in advocacy, education, and support for kids and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 75 years.

Minimum Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of 20 years’ experience as a leader in a relevant industry
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a CEO (or executive) experience in the Human Services, health care or a related field
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Strong strategic planning skills, short term and long term, with measurements of success and outcomes
- Lobbying and legislative skills preferred
- Skills that value collaboration, partnerships and cultivating key relationships
- Sound understanding of and experience in working effectively with private foundations
- Computer knowledge and ability: Outlook, Word, Excel
- Ability to manage, supervise and develop staff in a manner consistent with contemporary “best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the organization’s values and missions.
- Formulate and execute operational policies and procedures.
- Develop and monitor the internal operating budget and financial controls.
- Plan, organize and oversee the implementation of programs per the annual Strategic Plan.
- Increase community awareness and acceptance of Laradon through appropriate public relations, promotion and marketing strategies.
- Develop financial support for Laradon through business enterprises, grants, planned giving and contributions.
- Develop and/or execute contracts, agreements, and policies, on behalf of Laradon’s Board of Directors.
- Exercise sound leadership and management based on generally accepted practices and principles of organizational development and business management.
- Participates in all Board activities and fundraising strategies and initiatives.Is the spokesperson and face of Laradon.

Classification: Exempt
Starting Salary Range: $220,000-$280,000 annually.
