Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for overseeing the Summit Community Care Clinic (SCCC), a Federally Qualified Health Center and a provider of health programs aimed at the prevention of disease and promotion of health. The CEO focuses on advancing local, state, and national health advocacy efforts and determines which community health initiatives to pursue. This position oversees all community health programs from planning and design through implementation and evaluation. The CEO works with the executive team and staff to develop a strategic plan to support broad functional objectives for the clinic including Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, School-Based Health lines of service, and on-site Pharmacy.

  • Willingness to travel and work at other SCCC locations as necessary.
  • Comply with all applicable Credentialling and Privileging requirements timely.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Must Haves to be successful:

  • Bachelors degree with five years of relevant work experience, including 3-5 years of upper-level management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in social sciences, human services, health-related fields, business administration, or related fields as well as social or health education and the demonstrated ability to coordinate and develop community resources for the benefit of our diverse community.
  • Demonstrated management skills, including financial, fundraising, personnel, marketing, and public affairs.
  • Demonstrated creative and innovative skills, with long and short-range planning abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities. Priority is given to these skills if from a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrate appropriate balance of work and personal life.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Act as a representative of the clinic with patients, staff, and the general public in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Have knowledge of and adhere to all applicable laws and requirements associated with the management of a Federally Qualified Health Center.
  • High tolerance for stress.

Nice to Haves:

  • Graduate Degree preferred.
  • Able to speak Spanish (bilingual).
  • Previous experience working with a diverse workforce and/or participating in an ongoing DEI committee is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the clinic is financially healthy and adequately funded by overseeing leadership on production goals, strategic plan, managing grants, donations, government monies, and other revenue sources.
  • Maintain positive relationships with the Board of Directors. Participate as a non-voting member in regular and special meetings of the Board of Directors, providing information and data to support the board’s decision-making process. Serve as an ex-officio member of the board and board committees.
  • Follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the financial management of the clinic. Work closely with the CFO and Board of Directors in preparing budgets and presenting accurate financial reports.
  • Supervise the clinics Executive Team, including addressing personnel issues, directing the co-facilitation of performance evaluations, implementing policy, and providing direction related to executive priorities. Supervise other staff members as necessary.
  • Work with Human Resources to create and execute the salaries and benefits packages, ensure policies are equitable and job descriptions are approved, implemented, updated, and within legal requirements. Work with leaders to carry out performance evaluations and address personnel issues. Encourage a positive and rewarding work environment.
  • Work with the Executive Team to ensure that healthcare practices are equitable and in accordance with laws, based on best practices, and within the scope of allowable services.
  • Ensure progress towards the clinics strategic planning and quality assurance programs. This includes soliciting board and staff input for annual goals, ensuring the integration of grant and funder goals with the strategic plan, delegating duties to ensure the completion of goals and Q.A. plan, reporting progress, and maintaining focus on the long-term direction of the clinic.
  • Maintain continuing relationships with the business and civic community, with government agencies, and with private foundations supporting health activities, and represent the clinic at local, state, and national levels, involving other administrative officers and members of the professional staff as necessary. Work with the broader community to create strategic partnerships which promote the vision and financial health of the clinic.
  • Ensure that all patient privacy complaints are addressed in accordance with the care clinics complaint procedure.
