Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The CEO of United Way of Southern Chester County (UWSCC) provides visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the organization. The CEO ensures the development, implementation, and sustainability of community programs and partnerships that address critical local needs in education, financial stability, health, and emergency services. The role focuses on relationship building with donors, local businesses, government agencies, and nonprofits while aligning the organization’s efforts to create measurable social impact.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, social work, public administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience:
- 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, preferably with United Way or similar organizations.
- Proven track record in fundraising, community building, and partnership development.
- Strong experience in board management and working with diverse stakeholders.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and manage a high-performing team.
- Financial acumen and experience with nonprofit budgeting and reporting.
- Strategic thinking and an ability to execute long-term plans.
- Passion for community service and understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable populations in Southern Chester County.
