About the organisation
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) is a statutory authority primarily responsible for developing high quality early learning and development frameworks, curriculum for school aged students and assessment products and services. To deliver on its learning and development and curriculum responsibilities the VCAA publishes, monitors and supports the implementation of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework Birth-8 (VEYLDF), the Victorian Curriculum Foundation to Year 10, the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) including the VCE Vocational Major, the Victorian Pathways Certificate and Vocational Education and Training.
In addition, the VCAA oversees the delivery of, and conducts assessment for more than 59,000 students undertaking the VCE, including assessments of students undertaking accredited senior secondary courses. The VCAA also conducts assessments against the national standards for measuring and reporting on student performance including the National Assessment Program (NAPLAN) for more than 300,000 students.
Governed by an independent board that is responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, in addition to the Minister for Children and the Minister for Skills and TAFE, the VCAA helps support the education and training goals of the Victorian Government.

Appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Education and working closely with the Board, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is a trusted adviser providing strategic leadership and vision through the ethical, effective, and efficient management of VCAA’s large and complex operations.
As CEO, you shall be providing authoritative advice and reporting to Government on curriculum and assessment development and delivery, informed by evidence-based methodologies, and on all matters related to the Authority’s statutory responsibilities and operations.
This role has significant breadth and accountability, analyzing emerging curriculum and assessment issues and trends, as well as coordinating the development of policies, guidelines and strategies to effectively support education across the VCAA’s responsibilities for the transitional stages from birth to adulthood.
