Description:

REPORTING TO POSITION: CEO

Town / City: Kuilsriver, Cape Town
Ackermans is looking for a Senior Executive to lead, direct and manage Retail Operations across South Africa, Botswana, eSwatini, Lesotho and Namibia. The position is responsible for driving profitability and performance through operational KPI’s and development and execution of strategic plans.
Candidates will need to possess a value system that embraces the Ackermans values, purpose and strategy, whilst demonstrating outstanding leadership skills. [Ackermans brand values: Courage, Respect, Integrity, Simplicity and Performance].

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Experience required:
10 years or more of experience Retail Operations with a minimum of 3 years at a senior leadership level, along with a proven track record in retail operations, showing clear ability to set and deliver on business targets, timelines and strategic plans. Ideally, to have led an operations at a regional or divisional level in a large retail company.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Store design, marketing and merchandise strategies and activities.
  • Relevant HR practices, procedures and legislation
  • Operational store processes and methodologies
  • Location and property strategies
  • Economic and customer profile of business
  • Retail trends and challenges
  • Risk management.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Effective communication and motivation, using strong written and verbal communication
  • Consistently and effectively resolve multiple complex, interlinked, issues fundamental to the successful execution of the job.
  • Proven ability to lead Senior Managers in maximising sales growth.
  • Demonstrated resilience, tenacity and maintain high levels of drive and initiative under pressure.
  • Business and interpersonal proficiency
  • Understand, analyse, and interpret various internal and external factors that may impact the portfolios success.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to set and deliver on business targets, timelines and strategic plans.
  • Influence strategic decision-making across various and diverse functional teams in the company, to formulate and execute a compelling business strategy and Operations.
