  • Extensive exposure to financial management with a proven track record of innovation, delivery and performance

Responsibilities:

KEY PURPOSE

To ensure sound financial management of and capital planning for Discovery Insure and compliance with the relevant legislation and regulatory reporting requirements.

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and Financial reporting – Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual results of the business to senior management and the Insure Board. This includes both internal and external (regulatory etc) reporting needs as well as fulfilling the role of investor relations in the short term environment.
  • Billing and collections – Ensuring that every client is billed and funds collected and credit control processes are in place.
  • Banking and Treasury –Ensuring that funds are invested and returns monitored for best ROI by working with group treasury functions. This function includes monitoring the capital adequacy of the business.
  • Telematics devices – Ensuring that our asset base of over R100 million of devices are monitored, controlled and reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting – Building, monitoring, evaluating and reassessing the future financial position of the business and reporting thereon.
  • Financial operations – Ensuring that the business operates within a robust financial framework and the necessary controls are applied to prevent losses due to fraud or error.
  • Corporate governance and compliance – internal and external audits, risk and compliance work.
  • Financial aspects of mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance work.
  • Play a strategic role with the CEO and Board to define, steer and monitor the business to meet their long term objectives
