We are seeking a senior financial officer to support the operations of our hospital, as well as the operations of our
community partners. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will facilitate and complete budgets, variance analysis,
plan, collect, and interpret business plans. You will be the key decision support analyst for the hospital, ensuring
operations are based on performance indicators and key efficiencies are identified to improve quality and
sustainability. You will prepare and review financial statements and variance for the Board of Directors, intersect
with the Local Health Integration Network and Ministry of Health to advance our strategic plan. You will work
within a dynamic team to advance the delivery of health care within our health hub. Responsibilities, in addition to
Finance, include Accounting, IT, Payroll, and Purchasing, as well as food services, laundry, housekeeping, health
records, and maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Chartered Professional Accountant with healthcare sector experience
- Individual with evidence of progressive leadership and management experience in complex organizational
systems
- Extensive knowledge of public sector funding systems and formulae
- Knowledge of sector trends, best practices, benchmarking sources and performance indicators
- Relevant legislation knowledge affecting the sector, including Public Hospital Act, Health Insurance Act,
Health and safety legislation
- Ability to conceptualize and problem-solve complex issues
- Effective interpersonal skills for managing internal and external relationships
- Excellent communicator, proficient in financial accounting and computer systems
- Committed to patients, families and residents at the centre of our care and all operations of the Hospital
- A well-respected leader, with expertise in managing in a challenging work environment
