Description:

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least ten years of compliance or other relevant experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- An advanced degree in a field related to compliance
- Experience in an institutional compliance role and specific knowledge of fraud and abuse issues.
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Supervisory or management experience in a large and complex organization.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (required).
- Excellent interpersonal skills (required).
- Leadership skills and ability to collaborate with others (required).
- Ability to work closely and effectively with high-level university administrators (required).
- Ability to influence, solve problems, troubleshoot, think creatively, resolve conflicts, and persevere in investigating (required).
- Familiarity with the federal sentencing guidelines criteria for effective compliance and ethics programs (preferred).
- Experience in dealing with compliance or regulatory issues (preferred).
- Professional certification within the compliance and ethics industry, e.g., CCEP, LPEC, CFE (preferred).
- Auditing/CPA experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and standards applicable to institutions of higher education (preferred).
- Understanding of Brigham Young University’s mission, programs, and operations (preferred).

Responsibilities:
- Provide vision and strategic direction to the university’s compliance program
- Direct operations and personnel within the Integrity and Compliance Office
- Oversee the process for establishing, revising, and communicating university policies and procedures
- Support the Executive Risk Management and Compliance Committee, as directed by the university’s general counsel
- Oversee the administration of the university’s compliance hotline and responses to other reported compliance concerns
- Coordinate compliance investigations and visits from regulatory agencies
