Responsibilities:

The items listed below are intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. This is not an exhaustive list of all functions and responsibilities that the position may be required to provide.

  • Provide leadership to assist the organization with legal adherence and compliance to meet ChildNet’s Mission and organizational business goals.
  • Coordinate ChildNet’s internal and external legal affairs and ensures timely responsive delivery of legal services.
  • Communicate and manage legal and policy advice on ChildNet related matters to the Board, the President/CEO, leadership staff and the organization.
  • Appoint, supervise and manage the activities of outside legal counsel for ChildNet in the representation of legal matters and litigation involving ChildNet.
  • Manage, provide counsel and coordinate legal matters for ChildNet on legal and regulatory matters that include, but not limited to, Board Governance, contracts drafting and management, commercial litigation, risk and insurance management and employment law.
  • Monitor changes in state and federal laws and rules that affect the ChildNet’s operations and draft and/or provide responsive legal strategies, policies/procedures and revisions as may be required.
  • Work collaboratively with risk management, operations, Human Resources and other departments to design, implement and enforce programs for preventing and/or mitigating legal risks and supporting legal/regulatory
  • Serve as liaison with state, local and national agencies in building collaborative partnerships in furtherance of ChildNet’s Mission to include: the judiciary, the courts, law enforcement, Department of Children and Families Children’s Legal Services, Legal Aid, community organizations, the business community and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ability and commitment to work effectively in a diverse organization and
  • Manage ChildNet’s response to public inquiries and crisis management and maintain the appropriate level of confidentiality
  • Represent and advocate effectively in furtherance of ChildNet’s
  • Oversee the effective utilization, alignment, performance and accountability of employees in areas of responsibility and support enterprise-wide employee workforce planning strategies and initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic partner in the development and implementation of ChildNet’s strategic and operating
  • Participate in planning, developing and implementation of annual operating and expenditure budgets and support operational effectiveness and financial stability and sustainability.
  • Recognize, respect and respond to the unique, culturally defined needs of others
