Description:

We’re looking for a Chief of Staff for the organization of the GM APAC. You will report to the GM APAC and support the achievement of key initiatives and drive the strategic agenda of the GM APAC as we pursue aggressive growth targets.
As a key member of the APAC Senior leadership team, you will be a passionate advocate for the success of our business, our leaders and our employees. This highly visible role serves as the trusted advisor to the APAC GM, and acts as a key liaison to the field and a broad spectrum of key internal and external stakeholders; helping to determine and manage the top priorities for our field team and key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate must be passionate about the technology solutions industry and Splunk’s customers, product offerings and employees. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), presentation, networking, influencing and leadership skills will be critical, as will a detailed understanding of our sales tools and methodologies. Success depends on building rapport and credibility with cross-functional stakeholders at every level. The candidate must be a strategic thinker who can quickly operationalize complex problems and demonstrates natural learning agility and personal flexibility in a fast paced, change oriented environment.
Primary Responsibilities

Leadership Team

  • Ensure that the time the APAC Leadership Team spends together in team meetings is productively used. This includes managing the agenda, cadence and deliverables of leadership team meetings to ensure balanced and engaged input from the team in the development and execution of the strategic plan. This will include partnering with other key stakeholders to organize “offsite” meetings
  • Align presenters and review presentations prior to meetings to ensure meeting agenda and goals are met. Capture items from meetings share and follow up if necessary, with staff and presenters
  • Working with APAC GM, develop and manage common objective requirements of each leadership team member in relation to sales needs that drive our business success through silo-breaking activities like common goals/objectives and critical strategic discussions.

Office of the APAC GM

  • Responsible for managing the APAC GM event and customer engagement calendar, employee roundtables, all-manager meetings etc. along with the executive administration team.
  • Oversee required preparation for all stakeholder meetings, customers, employees, media, regulators, eStaff meetings, QBR’s etc.
  • Coordinate, assist in the Development and deliver content for executive presentations.
  • Actively participate in and/or lead various forums/meetings
  • Lead projects and programs for/with APAC GM ensuring strategic focus, drive alignment and facilitating decision making with cross functional teams
  • Drive follow through and resolution of action items from internal and external meetings.

Communications
In partnership with Corporate Communications, ensures consistent impactful communication to employees, customers, partners, and other key stakeholders through a variety of forums and events. This includes working with key stakeholders such as Human Resources on organizational announcements and confidential projects.

Candidate Attributes:

  • Broad and independent functional knowledge of technology or technology solutions company
  • Strong understanding of Splunk’s solutions and GTM model
  • Varied business background with international operations and strategy experience working in a global company that operates in multiple countries
  • Ability to transform general strategic direction into tactical action plans, with validation from stakeholders, generating choices and opportunities
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to communicate advanced analytical concepts and complex quantitative analysis in a concise, clear and actionable manner.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple deliverables, even in the face of some ambiguity • Sound planning and resource management skills
  • Strong interpersonal/negotiation skills, including conflict resolution demonstrated skills in systematic problem-solving
  • Experience in developing new and uncharted business solutions which have significant, direct impact on profit and loss
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a cross-functional environment to develop solutions that maximize business results
  • Must be able to manage conversations with the Board and C-Suite with ease and confidence • Self-starter who requires minimum supervision
  • Desire and motivation to put in the time and effort and make personal sacrifices, including extensive domestic and global travel
  • Broad business background with the ability to converse intelligently with other functional areas such as Marketing, Legal, Finance, Sales, and IT, as well as suppliers and customers

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline. Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of general management experience
  • Minimum five years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Sales, Consulting, Strategic Planning or Business Operations
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong strategic and financial analysis skills
  • Extensive experience in the technology industry
  • Knowledge of financial controls
  • Understanding of business drivers and strategies
  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time both domestic and internationally

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 12 + years’ work experience in tech company or related space. Management consulting experience and or Sales Operations experience is highly desirable
  • The ideal candidate will have been working in sales and in field sales and will have the proven ability to build strong and trusted relationships.
  • Exceptional listening and oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
  • Strong teaming skills and the ability to bring together diverse views.
  • A credible candidate will have a track record of consistently delivering excellent results even in the face of changing environments and be internally recognized as a strong performer with solid leadership skills.
  • The ideal candidate will have deep analytical skills and be able to identify patterns and process information quickly and make decisions in a timely manner.
