We are looking for a Chief Officer to M/S Finlandia. We are offering one permanent contract with immediate access.
We are searching for an officer with relevant professional experience, qualifications, good leadership qualities and a positive attitude towards maintaining a good safety and environmental awareness onboard.
The Chief Officer is the Master’s deputy or second-in command. As Chief Officer you hold the operational responsibility for maintenance on deck department for safe operations and workplace environment. You are also responsible for the entire cargo operation in port which includes safe cargo planning, loading and unloading.
In the position as Chief Officer you are the head of the deck department and responsible for the welfare of the crew. You make sure that all work on deck is carried out in a safe and efficient manner. You will regularly maneuver the vessel when entering or leaving harbor.
The candidate we are looking for is a positive, service minded professional with good language skills. Our official work language and safety language onboard is English, language skills in Finnish and Swedish are meritorious.
Minimum requirement for the position is a valid Master certificate (STCW II/2).
M/S Finlandia operates between Helsinki-Tallinn under Finnish flag. For the position as Chief Officer at M/S Finlandia we follow a work rotation according to 2:3 system, which consists of 122 workdays onboard and some additional days for courses and projects are to be expected.
