Are you a First class power engineer and have a passion for driving excellence? We are looking for a Chief Power Engineer at our Ethanol plant located in Sarnia, ON.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Ethanol Plant is operated and maintained in compliance with all governmental regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of working experience as a Power Engineer
  • First Class Power Engineer’s ticket or documentation of first class papers in progress
  • Three years of leadership/Supervisory experience
  • Ability to interpret Ontario Safety Code Regulation, which includes TSSA Codes and others
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Responsibilities:

  • Intervene directly with the shift organization and the cross functional team on any issues that are in non-compliance or have the potential of being non-compliant
  • Utilize specialized knowledge and skills to independently devise new/modified methods and processes or develop new/modified processes, to address non-routine tasks or problems
  • Ensure that the operations personnel for all the equipment are certified, properly trained and that the appropriate staffing numbers are compliant.
  • Ensure that all equipment is inspected regularly according to the TSSA regulations and review inspection records with the TSSA Lead Inspector on a quarterly basis
  • Ensure that all equipment has an effective maintenance/inspection strategy that compliments its reliability and personnel safety
  • Ensure that all equipment operating procedures are reviewed and approved every three-five years
  • Responsible for meeting license requirements as per operating approval
  • Ensure that reporting standards are communicated to maintenance and operations personnel

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Ethanol Plant in Sarnia, ON
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
