Psychologist and author, Dr. Brandy Engler is the Founder of Silver Lake Psychology. Following the success of her books, The Men on My Couch (BerkleyBooks) and The Women on My Couch, Dr. Engler began a group practice to meet the overwhelming demand. Dr. Engler had the vision for a company culture built on her relationship expertise to foster empathy, empower the client voice in their treatment and create inclusivity.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Chief Operating Officer oversees the day-to-day operations at Silver Lake and supports the growth of the practice. In this role, your primary duties include oversight of human resources, recruiting, patient intake, and budget, but you are also expected to support the CEO in the development and implementation of strategic plans for the practice. The practice director is responsible for the growth and profitability of the practice and establishes the goals and objectives for the practice, collaborates on a plan of action and then ensures that the departments work in a coordinated effort to accomplish these aims.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Management experience, required
  • Healthcare experience, preferred
  • Master Degree in Business or Healthcare related field, required

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn the practice’s policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn industry specific terminology and insurance practices.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, for effective and appropriate communication.
  • Knowledge of web-based computer programs and applications in an Apple/Mac/Google workspace environment
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of HIPAA policies and regulations
  • Knowledge of foundational servant leadership principles
  • Knowledge of systems-based management approach

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversees patient intake and provider matching process to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Oversees the hiring, onboarding, and training of administrative staff and clinical providers.
  • Manages vendor relationships, to include but not limited to contracted support for recruitment, marketing, and IT support
  • Handles accountability, discipline, and termination of administrative staff and clinical providers.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
  • Supports project timelines and business developments.
  • Coordinates with the CEO, clinical director, and department managers to implement improved processes and policies.
  • Develop actionable business strategies and objectives in tandem with the CEO.
  • Leads investigations regarding compliance or HIPAA related concerns.
  • Maintains a thorough and comprehensive understanding of state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, member contracts and policies and procedures in order to provide interpretation, promote consistency and support compliance.
  • Supports regulatory compliance by routinely analyzing compliance data from department programs.
  • Creates reports and recommends next steps to reduce compliance risk and assure a constant state of audit readiness.
  • Supports maintenance of effective training materials related to current regulatory and accreditation standards/requirements with focus on risk management.
  • Supports regulatory and accreditation audits including universe file pulls, file preparation and submission of documentation as needed.

  • Understand and challenge elements of white supremacist organizational dynamics in collaboration with owners and other leaders.
  • Annual performance reviews for leadership with CEO
  • Lead weekly manager’s meetings

  • Manage budget in collaboration with CEO and ARC Health, SilverLake’s MSO
  • Collaborate with CEO to develop new lines of business as needed
