Description:

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead the strategic planning cycle and related project roadmap management
  • Lead the data strategy and management across HLR Aus
  • Lead operational excellence across HLR Aus, embedding a continuous improvement culture
  • Act as Responsible Manager for HLR Aus’s Claims Handling AFSL and as an Accountable Person under the Financial Accountability Regime

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The ability to develop and lead organisational strategies
  • A proven track record in leading operational excellence and data strategy management
  • The ability to compile and deliver engaging presentations to colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload and operate well under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Solid financial management/reporting and analysis skills
  • Working knowledge of IT, claims processes, underwriting, project delivery and business development
  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong technical and statutory knowledge

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Chief Operating Officer is a senior management position with responsibility for directing and managing operational activities across the combined COO teams and in line with the implementation of the overall organisational strategy within the Company. You will work closely with senior management, embedding and encouraging a culture of fairness, openness and accountability.
The COO teams include IT, Claims, Underwriting, Medical & Health Services, Projects & Innovation and Data Governance.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will work closely with colleagues in Australia and across the Group to ensure all duties are undertaken in accordance with employment law, Group & local company policy and that any risk to the business is minimised.
