Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the aviation industry, with proven experience in setting up and optimizing business processes, managing supply chains, driving industrialization, and ensuring top-tier quality management. You will play a critical role in scaling operations, particularly in a start-up environment while ensuring compliance with aviation certification standards and maintaining strong relationships with regulatory authorities. Besides that, you will also:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, including functional lead of Supply Chain, IPE (integrated process excellence), FM (facility management), QM (Quality Management) and ensure compliance with industry regulations, focusing on aviation standards.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve business processes to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
- Prepare industrialization, including transitioning from prototype to mass production while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Establish and optimize supply chain strategies to ensure cost-effective sourcing, efficient logistics, and timely delivery of materials.
- Develop and oversee the company’s quality management system, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead efforts to secure alignment with certification requirements and prepare the organization for successful certification completion with EASA and/or other regulatory bodies.
- Stay up to date with evolving regulations and maintain strong working relationships with aviation authorities together with airworthiness functions.
- Develop and implement strategic growth initiatives, with a focus on scaling the business in a start-up environment.
- Support management team in driving innovation and strategic planning, ensuring alignment between operations and long-term company goals.
- Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in operations management, engineering aviation, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in aviation industry with proven track record in operations management. Additional experience in automotive industry is of advantage.
- Strong expertise in setting up business processes, industrialization, supply chain management, and quality assurance.
- Proven experience working with aviation authorities on regulatory issues (e.g., EASA, FAA).
- Experience in a start-up environment and knowledge of airworthiness regulations is highly desirable.
- Excellent understanding of aviation industry standards and certification processes.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and maintain relationships with aviation authorities.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on strategic growth and operational efficiency.
