About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled sourcing and supplier management individual to lead the end to end Sourcing Lifecycle for both ABS and also its customers, the other Amlin Legal Entities.
This individual shall be a role model and ambassador and lead by example, talking to the Legal Entities and internal ABS stakeholders as a trusted advisor without jargon.
This role is of critical importance not just to ABS itself but to the wider Amlin Group and as such, will be a direct report to the Managing Director of Business Services and be a member of the Executive Management Committee. Focus will be on sourcing, supplier management and third party risk management.

What You’ll Spend Your Time Doing

  • Owner of the sourcing, outsourcing, supplier management and third party risk management policies, accompanying processes and frameworks
  • Maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver top quartile sourcing and supplier management services
  • Accountable for supporting the management of risk in the supply chain
  • Lead, develop and inspire a team of resources across sourcing, supplier management and third party risk to drive more value from the Amlin supplier base
  • Drive sourcing strategies which are pertinent to the services ABS provides today and in the future to manage, consolidate and drive improvements through our c2500 contracts and c£160m spend, whether for a single Legal Entity requirement or across multiple Legal Entities
  • Ensure that the Material Outsource, Tier 1 and critical Tier 2 suppliers are governed effectively, continually improving the service whilst ensuring they consistently and constantly adhere to the Legal Entity external regulations
  • Support ABS’s drive for cost control and cost efficiencies by delivering year on year cost savings across the supplier base, and where feasible create commercial frameworks with suppliers for the benefit of the wider Amlin Group.

  • A track record of leadership in a complex private or public sector organisation with responsibility for strategic and operational Sourcing and Supplier Management functions
  • A solid understanding of the financial services market, UK and beyond
  • Have a demonstrable record of delivering value for money and best in class commercial services
  • Experience in leading and developing Sourcing and Supplier Management teams
  • Experience in managing third party risk management within the supply chain
  • An understanding of how the supply chain can support ESG initiatives
  • Ability to develop and manage complex supply chain and outsourcing relationships
  • Experience with rolling out appropriate technology infrastructure to support the function
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Strong intellectual and analytical abilities
