Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Chief Steward (Culinary) to join our team. As a crucial part of our kitchen operations, you will oversee the kitchen hand team and ensure the cleanliness and efficiency of our culinary workspaces. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining our high standards of sanitation and supporting the culinary staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a Chief Steward or similar role in a culinary environment, demonstrating strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Thorough knowledge of sanitation and hygiene standards, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse culinary and stewarding teams.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the kitchen hand team, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation in all kitchen areas, including dishwashing stations, equipment storage, and prep areas.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring availability as per operational needs.
- Collaborate closely with the culinary team to support efficient workflow and maintain cleanliness during food preparation and service.
- Handle and resolve any issues or complaints related to kitchen hand operations promptly and professionally.
- Maintain records and reports related to kitchen hand activities and inventory management.
