Description:

We are looking for someone with exceptional leadership qualities who can motivate staff and work in conjunction with our dispensary services team across sites to manage and develop our dispensary, stores and distibution services on the St Mary’s site.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Principal techncian Patient services and Principal, Pharmacist Patient Services and dispensary leads on the two other main sites. Our patient services team will work collaboratively to streamline systems and processes to make best use of Trust resources.
The post holder will be a key member of the senior pharmacy team for the St Mary’s site the and be a key contributor to a number of cross site meetings including Operational Services and Quailty and Safety.
To oversee the delivery of a high quality, safe and effective patient focused dispensing service to all healthcare professionals and the patients of the Trust, associated hospitals and community clinics.
To improve outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers.
To provide technical leadership and professional guidance on a daily basis to all staff working in the dispensary.
To ensure that all staff are appropriately trained in all technical functions of the dispensary and stores.
To ensure that service provision is flexible and responsive to patient needs.
To help audit the service against set standards and assist in the review of service provision
To support, develop and monitor the progress of technicians, pre-registration pharmacy technicians and assistants whether permanently based in the dispensary or on rotation to the dispensary.
To be the Accredited Checking Facilitator as required.
Champion a culture of learning and quality improvement in the pharmacy.
To ensure the safe storage and cost effective stock holding/supply of drugs in/from the dispensary.
To be responsible for all dispensary CMM (pharmacy computer system) training, housekeeping and review.
