Description:
WHO WE ARE
As the need for mental health services grows, Child Development Institute (CDI) continues to be the steadfast support and leading provider of specialized mental health services for children and youth aged 0-18 and their families. All of our services are guided by a strength-based approach that incorporates the family and the community into the journey of supporting children and youth.
Trusted with the mental well-being of our community’s most sensitive members, infants and children, all of our programming is backed by rigorous research. Science is the backbone which informs our work as we evolve alongside the needs of our community.
We are committed to providing services that are respectful of racial, cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic diversity, as well as sexual orientation, age, gender and family differences. All our services are delivered by a deeply caring and compassionate team that guides children, youth and families along a mental health journey in a safe, respectful and welcoming space.
WHO WE NEED
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, we are looking for a Child and Family Clinician to provide in-person, on-site therapeutic support to children, youth, and their families. You will be present one-on-one at school, in the community, and at the family home, as well as at CDI locations for group sessions. As part of our clinical leadership and children’s mental health treatment team, you will collaborate to develop treatment plans in a multidisciplinary context.
Our family community counselling program welcomes youth up to 18 years old coming from other programs in the agency and externally referred youth experiencing depression, anxiety, attachment or other diagnoses from 0-6 years old. In addition, we support children and youth who are part of our sexual abuse treatment program. We also co-facilitate the Circle Security Program, which focuses on building attachment between parents and their infants and children.
Therapeutic interventions may be delivered to individuals, groups and families. You are willing and able to occasionally travel to other CDI sites, community locations and family homes. You can work flexible hours to meet client needs.
This is an onsite role working five days per week based out of our Euclid head office.
