Description:
Instructs children in activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth. Assists the site supervisor with development and delivery of child care curriculum. Responsible for the general supervision and management of up to 14 children. Plans, supervises, and implements program curriculum for the site. Structures program to the needs of children with concern for their interests, special talents, and individual style, Ensures the safety and health of students. Responsible for the cleanliness and safety of the classroom. Supervises assigned Child Care Teacher Aide. Assists site supervisor in the preparation and service of snacks. Maintains effective communications with parents.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED. Must be 18 years or older. Must have completed 12 ECE semester/quarter equivalent units, and 6 months of experience working with children in a licensed or comparable center or a: Infant and Adult CPR & Pediatric first aid certificate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Catholic Charities and Adeste policies and procedures.
- Adeste parent handbook.
- State regulations as they refer to school age child care and community care licensing.
- Child development and appropriate developmental tasks performed at each developmental stage.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Display sensitivity, tact, and responsiveness in various situations and needs
Responsibilities:
- Plans, supervises and implements Adeste program curriculum for the site.
- Structures program to the needs of children with concern for their interests, special talents, and individual style.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and safety in classroom.
- Assists site supervisor in supervising children.
- Supervises assigned Child Care Teacher Aide.
- Attends all staff meetings and recommended training programs.
- Assists site supervisor in the preparation and service of snacks.
- Assists parents to complete Adeste parent contract when needed.
- Operates program in accordance with California Department of Education & Community Care Licensing regulations.
- Performs related duties as required.
