Fueling Brains Education Services provides high-quality early childhood care and education to children across Calgary and Strathmore. THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Child Care Aide to join our team. This role focuses on providing one-on-one support to children in daycare or preschool settings, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in daily activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in childcare or a related field.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and team members.
  • A nurturing and patient demeanor, with a passion for working with children.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Current police clearance (from the last 6 months) and updated Child Intervention Record Check.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to various situations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with children with diverse needs.
  • Educational background in early childhood development, special education or a related field.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and kneel as needed for childcare activities.
  • Comfortable working in environments that may include noise and activity.
  • Willingness to support children with occasional behavioral or medical needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, individualized care to children, ensuring their physical and emotional safety at all times.
  • Support children in their daily routines, including meals, naps, and hygiene activities.
  • Facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Monitor children’s behavior and intervene to ensure a positive, safe experience for all.
  • Assist in adapting materials and activities to meet individual developmental levels.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions as required.
