THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Child Care Aide to join our team. This role focuses on providing one-on-one support to children in daycare or preschool settings, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in daily activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in childcare or a related field.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and team members.
- A nurturing and patient demeanor, with a passion for working with children.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current police clearance (from the last 6 months) and updated Child Intervention Record Check.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to various situations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with children with diverse needs.
- Educational background in early childhood development, special education or a related field.
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and kneel as needed for childcare activities.
- Comfortable working in environments that may include noise and activity.
- Willingness to support children with occasional behavioral or medical needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, individualized care to children, ensuring their physical and emotional safety at all times.
- Support children in their daily routines, including meals, naps, and hygiene activities.
- Facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Monitor children’s behavior and intervene to ensure a positive, safe experience for all.
- Assist in adapting materials and activities to meet individual developmental levels.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions as required.
