Child Care Associate (0-19 hours/week)

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

New Moms believes in the strength, skills, and potential of young moms. Our comprehensive approach provides housing, job training, academic coaching, and family support to give moms and their children a path to lasting success. Combining behavioral research, proven methodology, and 40 years of real-world experience, New Moms has established an equity-driven model for generational change, challenging the barriers caused by systemic poverty and racism.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with children ages 0-5 preferred

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Access to a car and/or ability to use public transportation
• Must be flexible as schedule varies from week to week and includes daytime and evening hours

• Assists with a broad range of childcare-related services, including implementing lesson plans, parent-child interactions, and children’s activities
• Supports and engages with volunteers in the childcare setting
• Works collaboratively with other staff to ensure a continuum of service delivery
• Upholds the New Moms’ Executive Skills Coaching approach which is grounded in racial equity
• Based on schedule participates in agency and program staff meetings, as well as professional group seminars or conferences to enhance professional knowledge and job skills
• Provides crisis intervention as needed with the goal of ensuring safety while collaborating with the participants program coach, supervisor and/or other appropriate supports
• Performs other related duties as assigned
