Description:

A very rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Health Care Support Worker to join our fantastic and expanding team and develop into the role of Child Development Assistant (CDA)
The Child Development Service (CDS) serves children with complex needs, physical or neurodiversity and their families in the Bradford district. We are a team made up of Doctors, Nurses Preparation for adulthood coordinator and practitioners, and Child development assistants. The team work collaboratively alongside other agencies, striving to provide an excellent service for children and young people (CYP) and their families. As a team we work closely with families in order to ensure that the specific health needs of the CYP are met through assessment and the formulation of individualized treatment plans which promote independence. Additionally, our expert team signpost to the appropriate support of outside agencies and organisations, including social care and the voluntary sector. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be trustworthy and professional, and have the ability to use available resources to provide a consistent and safe service to the children and families of the Bradford district, while supporting in consultant and nurse led clinics.
The primary focus of this role is to provide an effective and high quality services in relation to the CDS. To help organise and participate in assessments and reviews in the clinic setting, to work closely with children and families coming to the CDS, and to liaise and communicate with professionals and agencies involved with the service.
This will involve various health assessment procedures, and will also include providing play and activities during clinic sessions.
An important part of the role is contributing towards the assessment of children and their needs based on the post holder’s knowledge and experience of working with children with complex health, physical and learning needs.
The post holder will need to be highly organised, able to work without direct supervision, and be an excellent communicator, with the ability to support the team in the day to day operation of the services they provide.
