  • Strong computer skills and within with Microsoft Office Package (Outlook, Excel and Word), databases, and client databases.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLES

The Child and Youth Assistant is responsible for assisting the Child and Youth Worker’s (CYW) in providing direct services, within an effective treatment program, to adolescents during the school year. This position is also responsible for administrative supports and coordination to ensure the day-to-day operation of the JDD Centre.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists the CYW(s) in supporting the academic instruction of special needs students, including providing treatment (care, coaching and counselling) to youth on a daily basis.
  • Collaborates with CYW(s) in the development, implementation, reviewing, and monitoring of treatment plans for youth in conjunction with their family and JDD team.
  • Assists the CYW(s) in completing case reports, daily logs and other documentation.
  • Maintains accurate and timely client related documentation for internal and external record keeping in accordance with professional standards, the Agency and Day Treatment Policy.
  • Performs a variety of administrative duties in support of the JDD’s programs, CYW’s and teachers, such as coordinating meetings, writing minutes, ordering office supplies, maintaining petty cash and food vouchers, general administrative duties such as mail, courier, answering the phones, etc.
  • Collects data for ministry reporting.
  • Maintains parent and emergency contact lists.
  • Attends and participates in weekly Team Meetings, Progress Reviews, Conferences and any other meetings as required
  • Ensures the health and safety of all staff and student by adopting and adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintains the physical facilities of the program in accordance with the accepted agency standards, public health guidelines, and health and safety guidelines.
