Description:

Join Beacon Community Services as the Childcare Manager at our PEXSISEN location in Langford. This key leadership position requires excellent organization and interpersonal skills to ensure licensing requirements are met, build strong relationships with children and families, and lead a dedicated staff team.
Childcare programs at Beacon Community Services are outdoor and nature-based programs that support children in understanding their relationship with the land. Using our growing knowledge of the Indigenous ways of knowing, we encourage children to respect their interactions with the land and the community they live in. As educators, we become co-investigators with the children as we experience our natural environment, and support Indigenous connections, as we are able, through community alliances, and honorariums.
We are committed to providing an inclusive warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe to trust, learn, and gain independence. We believe in the importance and value of play as a medium through which children learn and facilitate opportunities that support their emotional, social, creative, cognitive, physical, and language growth. Our environment will recognize children as capable beings, respect the child’s opinions, and support every child’s physical, social and cultural diversity.
