Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our paediatric team at Worthing Hospital. We are looking to appoint a forward thinking and enthusiastic nurse to lead and develop the Children’s Ambulatory Care throughout the Division. The successful candidate will provide management and leadership support to the paediatric nursing team whilst maintaining responsibility for a safe and effective service. The Ambulatory Care Manager will work collaboratively with the Children’s Ward Manager to ensure a visible leadership, drive improvement and provide assurance to clinical and management teams within the Children’s Directorate.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is motivated and passionate about leading and delivering a quality service to meet the changing needs of our local population.
We are looking for an experienced nurse with a clear vision to lead the team to ensure patients have a positive experience. You will need to be able to lead with care & understanding to create a shared purpose and ensure the team feel supported.
You will be responsible for the daily operational management of the Ambulatory Care Services within the Children’s Division, providing leadership to the team, whilst giving necessary professional, clinical practice and support. You will work with different specialities & staff to further develop pathways and create a team approach.
You will be part of a team responsible for driving ambulatory care forward and be able to represent this area at senior level. The successful candidate will be offered a supportive & friendly working environment with the chance to develop further.

To Support the Matron and inpatient ward manager to ensure that high quality patient focused care is delivered within the Children’s and Young Person’s Day Unit (CYPDU), surgical day case and Children’s Outpatient Department.
To actively participate in the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the service.
To act as an expertly skilled clinical nurse, leader and role model whilst providing direct quality patient care.
To utilise expert clinical judgement, decision making and skills in relation to the assessment and management of children within the service.
To work within the Child and Young Person’s Day Unit, Children’s Outpatients and surgical teams on nursing issues and management of clinical governance issues.
To participate in the supervision, teaching, mentorship and appraisal of pre and post registration nurses.
To work collaboratively with the multi-professional team and inpatient ward manager to ensure the delivery of high quality service provision.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly to achieve the key responsibilities of the post.
To maintain and support the efficient use of physical and /or financial resources.
