Description:
Role Introduction
- Do you have experience in delivering children’s dietetics?
- Are you a team player who works with others to deliver a high-quality service, embrace innovation and would like the opportunity of variety that community settings offer?
- We are looking for a qualified dietitian who is passionate about supporting the delivery of an effective, responsive and caring service.
This post is permanent, flexible (hybrid working), part-time 18.75hrs per week. The Children’s Team currently consists of 12 staff, including admin/dietetic assistant/associate practitioner. We pride ourselves in supporting each other through peer support and clinical leadership team. We also work closely with hospital colleagues, commissioners and paediatricians to develop pathways e.g. citywide formulary for cow’s milk protein intolerance. All staff are provided with a laptop and smart phone for hybrid working and remote access to SystmOne. Interviews are planned for 18th September 2024.
You will work with children from 0-19 years and their families/carers. Children are referred from primary care and child health colleagues within acute and community organisations in Leeds. Full training will be provided to allow you to manage a caseload of children who are enterally fed and are seen in clinics / schools or at home either via telephone, virtually or face to face. Many of these children will be life-long enteral feeders, so you will be supporting the continuity of care that many require across a range of settings, including respite and foster care. Your caseload will also include children with a variety feeding difficulties and nutritional issues. This includes food intolerances such as Cows Milk Protein Intolerance (CMPI), as well as faltering growth and fussy eating. Families are seen in community clinics and joint clinics with paediatricians. We liaise with wider teams that can include social services, education, safeguarding and other healthcare professionals.
