Description:
We are looking to recruit a Children’s Community Special School Nurse (Band 6) to provide specialist health care support for children and young people with medical needs for the Harrow Special schools.
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic staff who are able to work to work autonomously and provide support to special school staff . Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you have the enthusiasm to join the well established team and support transformation?
You will be responsible for providing an excellent, high quality service to the children of Harrow who have additional needs and support one or several of the special schools in Harrow. You will be required to work closely with children, their parent/carers and key partners to improve health outcomes and support children with special needs to achieve their full potential within all settings; at home, community and at school. You will need to demonstrate experience working with children who have additional needs.
Good communication and working relationships with the school staff and school leadership team is an essential part of the role.
The Special School Nursing Team are based with the Children’s Community Nursing Team , working in the special schools, The position is for part time 30 hours per week /Monday to Friday 9.00 -15.00, Term- Time only.. Flexible working between 22.5 hours to 30 hrs per week, term time will also be considered.

We believe that the best health care is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams working well together and in partnership with other teams and services to provide seamless care. Special School nurses work as part of a team and you will contribute to the success of the team by being an effective role model to healthcare assistants/ support workers/school staff and students to ensure they are working to the standards which the people using our services deserve
