We are looking for a dedicated Children’s Home Manager to create an environment that provides a combination of effective safeguarding, support to our young people and leadership of our residential team within our 4-bed home.
As a Home Manager at SWAAY, you will understand how to make a house a home, leading by example to create and maintain a nurturing and inclusive home environment for our vulnerable young people to thrive and reach their full potential.
For over 30 years, SWAAY have been committed to providing specialised, high-quality residential care, education and therapy for young males aged 11-18 with developmental trauma who have displayed sexually harmful behaviour. We work to reduce the risk our young people pose, meet their complex needs and help them to manage their physical and behavioural difficulties, so they can leave their past traumas behind, build healthy relationships and lead responsible and rewarding adult lives.
This role involves leading excellent standards of individualised care, meeting the emotional, physical and developmental needs of the young people in the home, as well as guiding and developing the staff working in the home.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day to day running of the home – including staffing, weekly budgets, resources
  • Promoting the ethos of openness and equality of communication
  • Using the principles of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy (PACE) to provide the young people with attachment security
  • Overseeing the development, implementation and monitoring of placement plans and risk assessments, maintaining accurate records within the house in line with legislation and company policies
  • Liaising with families and external agencies
  • Providing staff supervision and training, as well as performance management and support
  • Leading, guiding and motivating team members
  • Taking part in recruitment and selection processes
  • Supporting the Therapy and Education programmes
  • On Call duties
