Description:
To undertake a defined range of high standard professional duties, within the Paediatric physiotherapy team, working across the Trust in a range of ward, out-patient, and community settings. To assess, develop and implement respiratory physiotherapy treatment for children and young people (CYP) with medical complexity, under the Winter pressures ReACT service . To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse paediatric respiratory presentations, to provide respiratory support and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme to prevent hospital admission, maintain respiratory function and help facilitate early discharge. To use advanced clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and analysis to support assessments and management.
To work closely with other members of the MDT within health, education, social services to ensure treatment meets the holistic needs of the child. To share supervision with a more experienced practitioner and assess the performance of assistant practitioners, unqualified staff, peers and colleagues of junior rank or less experience, and physiotherapy students
