Description:

Newcombe Lodge provides a unique package of care and support 24hours a day and 365 days a year, for some of the most vulnerable Children and Young people age 13 - 18 in our care system.

Care here is individually tailored and we aim to make the experience as positive and beneficial as possible. Newcombe Lodge provides specialist services to children and young people with a range of emotional, behavioural, psychological and mental health problems, in particular self-injury and other associated risk taking behaviours.
We believe that all Children and Young people, particularly those who have led troubled lives, first and foremost require a high level of nurturing care which ensures all their basics needs are met.
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who have the necessary skills and abilities to work with Children and Young people.
Main duties and responsibilities
To demonstrate an ability to operate as a member of a team.
You will be required to undertake a variety of administrative duties which are pertinent to the running of the service.
To ensure clear lines of communication are utilised, promoting the welfare of the Children and Young people, including liaising with parents/carers and other professionals/agencies i.e.: Social Workers, Nurses and Psychotherapists
To assist each Child or Young person with the development of their Education, and working closely with teaching staff (as appropriate).
To contribute towards the preparation of meals and supporting the catering staff as appropriate.
To work on behalf of the Children and Young people to educate and provide positive advice regarding any aspect of their health care requirements.
To participate in activities and to promote and encourage Children and Young people to contribute towards the planning of such activities.
On successful completion of the Probationary Period, and if appropriate, the applicant will be appointed as a permanent Therapeutic Care Worker, which includes Key Working responsibilities. It is a mandatory requirement to complete QCF Level 4 upon completion of probationary period.
To undertake waking nights or day duties on a rotational basis, as directed by your Line Manager.
To attend individual and group supervision sessions as directed by your Line Manager.
To participate in identified mandatory training requirements and continuing personal and professional vocational activities.
Where appropriate complete driving assessments in order to be authorised to drive on priory business
