The Circular Battery Economy Specialist (CBES), as part of the product strategy and integrity team, is responsible for creating concepts to close the life cycle of our battery products from the end of their vehicle life to the material recycling. This includes remanufacturing, repurposing in a second use in a different application and optimized recycling. The primary goal is to improve the sustainability of our products, especially related to the climate gas emissions footprint and the circularity of minerals. In addition, the related business cases shall be evaluated to focus on the most efficient measures. In this role the CBES has to manage both technical and economical topics to define the right concept for our products and programs.

Key Roles and Responsibility

  • Define and refine concepts for a circular battery economy system including remanufacturing, repurposing and recycling.
  • Calculate corresponding business cases.
  • Pre-evaluate technical feasibility of the concepts.
  • Support our teams in supply chain, service and aftersales, programs and R&D with the requirements to meet our sustainability targets.
  • Calculate the CO2 footprint for our products and show optimization potential.
  • Identify partners to achieve the goals.
  • Drive pilot projects to generate practical experience and identify roadblocks.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor or Master degree in environmental sciences, engineering, economy or similar.
  • Strong interest in technical and management topics.
  • Several years of experience in the field of battery systems or energy storage technologies.
  • Knowledge on product sustainability.
  • Professional verbal and written communication and presentation skills and ability to drive the topic together with customers, partners and upper management.
