JOB DESCRIPTION
Section: Citizen Service Centres Section
Division: Greater Sudbury Public Library
Department: Office of the Chief Administrative Officer
Initial Reporting Location: Lively Public Library and Citizen Service Centre
Job Status: Limited Position
Estimated Probable Duration: Seven (7) Months
Affiliation: Inside Unit
Hours of Work: 70 hours bi-weekly
Shift Work Required: Some Evenings and Weekends may be required
Range of Pay: Group12 - $33.11 to $41.77 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma Course in Library and Information Technology or Business Administration.
- Over two and one-half (2½) years up to and including five (5) years related experience.
- Knowledge of best practices within areas of responsibility.
- Knowledge of library services and operations.
- Knowledge of municipal services and departments.
- Knowledge of various computer applications including Windows based systems, word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Knowledge of library automated systems, PerfectMind System and customer relationship management software an asset.
- Ability to understand and meet the needs of customers.
- Ability to demonstrate supervisory and administrative ability.
- Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills in dealing with the public in a courteous and effective manner.
- Ability to demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detailed work.
- Ability to demonstrate accurate keyboarding skills.
- Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
- French verbal and written skills an asset.
- Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
- Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver’s licence, have an acceptable driving record, and personal insurance coverage.
This job is also being posted as a development opportunity. Should there be no fully qualified candidate for this position, a candidate who can be expected to meet the required qualifications within a reasonable period of time may be considered for this position as a development opportunity.
Development opportunity range of pay: $30.86 to $38.35 per hour. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced range until the minimum qualifications have been met.
