KSMCo Gold Inc.’s (KSMCo) Kerr-Sulphurets-Mitchell (KSM) Property involves the development of major gold-copper deposits located in northwest British Columbia (BC) off Highway 37, approximately 65 km by air north-northwest of the ice-free Port of Stewart, BC. The Property is situated within the coastal mountains of BC, approximately 30 km topographically up-gradient of the Alaska-BC border.
The purpose of this position is to oversee and direct the performance of all field construction activities for assigned craft areas in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. This requires a working knowledge and background of assigned work, the ability to appreciate and resolve complex situations with assistance, and see actions as a series of steps.

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 15 years of civil supervision experience preferably on fly-in fly-out mining, oil and gas construction projects.
  • Possesses a Trade or Engineering technical designation.
  • Must have experience with Unit Rate and/or Lump Sum Contracts.
  • Must have strong knowledge of the full suite of MS Office computer applications.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • In-depth analytical skills and ability to create useful and actionable reports from data.
  • Possess expert level written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to edit and proofread.
  • Excellent time management, and follow-through skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that project construction activities and services are executed in conformity with the project’s Health and Safety policies and plans;
  • Ensures that project construction activities and services are executed in conformity with the project’s environmental policies and plans;
  • Manages assigned site construction work packages;
  • Monitors baseline schedules against daily Contractor progress;
  • Responds to Contractor daily reporting as applicable;
  • Ensures Contract compliance on supervised scopes;
  • Ensures that project construction activities and services are executed in conformity with KSM’s community relations policies and plans;
  • Supports Construction Manager in preparing annual budgets with input and assistance from the Project Controls Department;
  • Reviews and approves project construction schedules with input from the Package Manager, Construction Manager and internal stakeholders;
  • Ensures strict compliance with project Change Management processes;
  • Ensures timely delivery of project construction services to internal stakeholders;
  • Coordinates construction contractor risk assessments with input and assistance from the Package Manager, Construction Manager, project Risk Specialist, project Engineering Department, Consultants, internal stakeholders and the broader project Construction Team;
  • Extracts data from sources such as plans, engineering reports, and specifications to organize the work of construction contractors and vendors;
  • Coordinates any work inputs from project Site Services;
  • Periodically reviews the Construction Management Execution Plan to ensure conformity with current requirements of the Contract and Technical requirements.
  • Assists with the compilation of construction documentation for upcoming work packages;
  • Assist the Construction Manager with Contractor Risk Assessments;
  • Identifies contractor performance issues and works with the Construction Manager and other internal stakeholders to resolve issues;
  • Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory and building code requirements including Federal, Provincial, and Local;
  • Ensures conformity with industry codes of practice and standards;
  • Ensure full project Permit compliance.
  • Ensures that all work conforms with the specified Quality and Turnover standards of the specific work package;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager.
