Earth Sciences and Engineering specializes in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modeling, surface and subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, underground structures, geotechnical laboratory services, flood forecasting and water resource management through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise.
Hatch is currently looking for a senior civil design technician for our Civil Site Development team in the Montreal office.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Help design civil works such as roads, stormwater management systems, underground services, water-retaining structures and mass excavations for site development projects in key sectors (mining and metals, infrastructure, and energy)
  • Determine CAD project needs and find innovative solutions
  • Prepare work methods and job steps for each project
  • Supervise and assist with 3D modelling for structures
  • Oversee production of 3D drawings based on 3D models
  • Ensure that project procedures and standards are followed
  • Coordinate with other practices on design elements
  • Oversee model and drawing management, assisting as needed
  • Help train other designers on the team

Qualifications and experience:

  • College diploma (DEC) in Civil Engineering
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D software
  • Familiar with MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and ProjectWise software (an asset)
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to adapt to different clients and industries
  • Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken
