Job Description:
We are currently searching for a Civil Engineer-in-Training to join our Municipal Infrastructure group in our Calgary office. The Municipal Infrastructure team provides engineering services for complex projects related to water, sanitary and stormwater infrastructure with an emphasis on underground installations. Our clients include municipalities, provincial government, telecommunications and private utility owners.
This position will present many opportunities on a variety of tasks and our expectation will be for the candidate to develop proficient skills in all areas of project delivery, including preparing studies, designs, cost estimates, specifications, contract documents, construction management, and construction inspection. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives from concept to design to construction.
- Competently and independently complete designs, technical reports, cost estimates, technical specifications and construction contract documents under the supervision of the Engineer of Record.
- Executing tenders, constructability assessments, contract administration, and inspection of municipal infrastructure projects under the supervision of the Engineer of Record.
- Act as Prime Contractor to ensure all field work is executed in a safe manner that meets company and client HSE requirements.
- Actively build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, suppliers, contractors, other consultants, government administrators for the benefit of clients, projects and business development.
- Coordinate Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews for project deliverables.
Job Requirements:
What you will bring:
- Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- 2+ years of civil engineering experience; previous consulting experience is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in design and the design process, application of codes, standards and regulations, understanding of constructability and site inspection experience is considered an asset.
- Registered as an Engineer-In-Training with APEGA and eligible to apply for P.Eng. in Alberta within 3 years.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel within Alberta.
