We are seeking a dedicated and driven Civil Engineer to join our team!
Location: Innisfail, Alberta Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred. Registered with APEGA
  • Minimum of 5 years of civil/structural engineering experience, ideally with a focus on vessel and tank design and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in RISA 3D for structural analysis is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of industry codes such as ASME (e.g., B31.1, B31.3, VIII Div. 1 & 2) and API standards are considered an asset.
  • Creative problem-solving with a drive for excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strong collaborator who excels in mentoring, communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & Analysis: Lead comprehensive structural analysis and innovative design.
  • Engineering Calculations: Perform detailed calculations to assess structural stability, overturning, sliding, and analyze the impact of lateral and vertical loads. Evaluate ultimate moments, torque, and shear force, ensuring compliance with stress and deflection criteria.
  • Compliance and Safety: Uphold and enforce all building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards to maintain the highest standards of safety and excellence.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with project managers, production teams, and clients to oversee projects, meet milestones and proactively address challenges.
  • Manufacturing Support: Provide expert engineering guidance during the manufacturing phase to maintain design integrity and ensure quality.
  • Quality & Compliance: Apply knowledge of industry standards such as CWB, ASME, API, and other relevant codes to enhance design and project compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Partner with teams to identify process enhancements, implement energy-efficient solutions, and optimize workflows.
  • Innovate: Design steel connections (moment connections, gusset plates, bracing, shear tabs, etc.) that meet and exceed industry codes.
  • Lead and Mentor: Share your expertise with our team and guide them in using industry-standard software.
  • Explore and Investigate: Participate in site inspections and structural assessments for diverse projects.
