Job description

Our client, who are an integrated delivery partner for EDF, are seeking a number of Civil Engineers who can provide technical expertise to support the technical design and delivery of construction deliverables for the buildings of Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C Projects. The successful role holder will have a working knowledge of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering. Key responsibilities will be:

  • Producing building specific documents such as handover reports or hypothesis notes
  • Responsibility of raising, following up of building specific technical open points as a first point of contact for the L3 civil designer
  • Supporting the civil building lead for the resolution of transverse/complex technical open points and contract engineering lead in coordination with L3 civil designer and other stakeholders for producing the design
  • Coordinating and carrying out the resolution of building specific technical topics and tracks the evolution of these activities in their scope of activity
  • Supporting the contract engineering lead for the preparation of progress reports for the Client Project Manager and alerts of any technical risks to program and reviewing technical proposals for variations

Experience required

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in civil engineering
  • Civil engineering design office experience (variable depending on the level of the service required), particularly in the design and detailing of industrial reinforced concrete structures
  • Experience in the nuclear sector would be advantageous
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering and the design and detailing of reinforced concrete
  • Understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations
