Full time Civil Engineering Draftsperson
Salary: $75000 to $80000 pa, excluding superannuation
Future Data Sense Technologies (FEDASEN) is a team of technology specialists, domain experts, researchers, ML engineers, data scientists, and software developers who are experts in developing innovative solutions and applications in Infrastructure Asset Management focusing on roads and transport networks.
By convergence and applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Geospatial technologies, we have developed intelligent & automated solutions to conduct roads and roadside maintenance.
To successfully serve our customers and deliver our projects on time with our high standard of quality, we need a team consisting of qualified, skilled and experienced Software developers, Developer programmer, Engineering Professionals, draftspersons and technicians, data capture admin and help desk as well as consultants, project managers, advisors and a passionate leadership team.
Currently we are looking for a Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our team at our Melbourne office on a full-time basis, this role is focused on supporting road infrastructure projects by utilizing FEDASEN’s platform, GIS software, and other civil engineering tools. We are looking for an induvial with civil engineering background and expertise in these areas to contribute to the company’s mission to revolutionize road asset management in future data augmented Smart Cities.
As a full time, Civil Engineering Draftsperson, your daily duties may include:
· Prepares detailed drawings and plans and reports for civil engineering work in support of project managers and our Engineering Professionals

· Utilize FEDESON’s proprietary platform and advanced equipment, such as 360 cameras and drones, to collect road data for infrastructure projects. Perform road sampling and ensure the accuracy and quality of data for further processing and analysis.

  • Interpret and review project scopes and specifications.
  • Analyse collected data using FEDASEN’s platform and GIS software to support project decision-making and planning. This includes identifying road defects, assessing hazards, and rating the serviceability conditions of assets.

· Create detailed sketches, plans, and designs for road infrastructure projects using civil engineering principles, data analysis, and outputs from FEDASEN platform. Ensure that designs comply with project specifications and relevant regulations.

  • Prepare sketches, charts, tabulations, plans and designs for civil engineering works

· Inspect infrastructure works during construction and upon completion, ensuring compliance with design specifications and identifying any necessary repairs or maintenance. Monitor project progress and provide recommendations for improvements or adjustments.

· Utilize FEDASEN platform and GIS software to manage and maintain a comprehensive inventory of road assets, including traffic signs, road markings, and other infrastructure elements. Update the asset database with relevant information to support road infrastructure planning and maintenance.

  • estimate material costs and ensure finished works are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions

· Work closely with FEDASEN team of professionals, including project managers and technicians, to achieve project objectives and ensure timely delivery of high-quality work. Communicate project progress and updates to relevant stakeholders.
