CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST

MR Engineering & Design Ltd. is a full-service, independent engineering and design firm located in Exeter, ON. We are a team of highly skilled and experienced engineers and designers who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic & detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technician to assist on a wide variety of projects by producing design & construction drawings. You will be an integral part in ensuring that project design & follow through run smoothly.

REQUIREMENTS:

• University Degree or Technical School Diploma or equivalent related to Architecture or Structural Engineering Technology, or similar from a recognized post-secondary institution
• Work experience as a civil engineering technician or similar experience working in the construction industry considered an asset
• Knowledge of the Leica equipment and operating software considered an asset
• Proficient with GPS Equipment in Topographic Survey and Construction Layout
• Proficient use and management of AutoCAD Civil 3D software
• Valid Class “G” driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD and Revit would be an asset, but not required
• Team player with attention to detail, with time management skills to be able to prioritize activities and support teams when necessary.
• Organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  Job Type: Full-time
  Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
  Expected hours: 44 – 50 per week

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and produce functional, preliminary, and detailed design drawings for a wide variety of site development and land development projects
• Complete topographic surveying by running Total Station, GPS data equipment as well as the downloading of electronic files
• Prepare cut / fill quantities for construction estimates
• Prepare necessary reports including storm water calculations
• Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations
